In 2 Timothy 2:2, Paul writes, "Take the teachings that you heard me proclaim in the presence of many witnesses, and entrust them to reliable people, who will be able to teach others also." GNB
While we were in Shinyanga packing the truck to move our things to Kondoa, we visited a church, on Sunday, where both Terry & Nan had done a lot of teaching. The pastor there, Lucus, took hold of those teachings and has been teaching, not only in his village, but in other villages. They have four small groups, at members homes, each week. When we first went to this church they had the small group of 5 or 6 women, 2 men and 10 or 12 children. On this Sunday in March, there were probably 35 or 40 men and women and 25 or more children. God has continued to bless this church and it's members. Also, Nan's very good friend, Demetria, who helped her do lots of translating during our first term, told us that she is using the material (Heaven is for Women) that they worked together on. Nan taught these lessons in two villages, and she, Demetria, is teaching a women's group in another church now, and the women have affirmed these teachings and has over 20 women each week. Please pray for these Sukuma, although we have left that area, we still love these people and contiue to pray for the work there. We are loaded and headed to Kondoa. As you can see there had been rains the night before and that made the trip slower. We also had problems with the rear axle of the trailer, it slipped and we had to stop twice and work on it. We finally arrived in Kondoa at 2:30 pm (about 93 miles that day and we left at 6:30 am) When we got there the driver of the truck wanted to unload so he could leave early the next morning. What took us three days to load, took four men three hours to unload, of course we are still trying to find things.

One really neat surprise was on Sunday morning we got a hodi (like a knock knock) at the back door. When we went to see who was there, a young lady was bringing a liter of fresh milk. I ask how much and she replied, "Baba sent it". On Monday when she came Terry followed her home and talked to her father. They live just to the right of our back door and have a dairy. We now get fresh milk delivered every morning at about 7:30 am.

Please pray for us as we get settled, that we continue to share our testimonies when ever and where ever we can. That we won't get weary in the work, but keep our goals on the main things, and that is sharing Jesus.

On the road again

We know you can't tell much from this photo of the roads, but we went about 84 miles in 4 1/2 hours. There have been rains and that always causes the roads to be worse. We are currently in Shinyanga trying to get a truck to haul our furniture, things don't go quickly here. We hope to begin loading the truck on Monday and be ready to travel again next Thursday. The two days we spent in Kondoa we were able to get a bank account started, rent a post office box, go to the immigrations office and get a person started to make corner posts for our fence. We accomplished so much in just a short time. Thank you so much for your continued prayers.

Travel Scehdule

Thanks to all who have commented or written us, we love hearing from you. Tomorrow, March 9th we will leave Dar es Salaam and head to Kondoa. We hope to leave some of our luggage there, making a secure room, attempt to get a post office box, set up a bank account, and begin our fence, then we will head to Shinyanga to get our belonging. We ask that you pray specifically for our travels in the next two weeks and that we won't get bogged down in the "living and getting settled" parts. Thanks so much.

Our new home in Kondoa

This is our house in Kondoa. It has three bedrooms, two baths, kitchen, livingroom and dinning area. From what we have been told the two guest rooms are on the far left, middle area is kitchen, living and dinning rooms and master bedroom w/bath next to a garage. The garage will serve as storage since we have to sell our sea container that is in Shinyanga. There isn't a fence yet, but that will be done as soon as we get there.

Arrival in Tanzania

We arrived in Dar es Salaam Tanzania on Tuesday night at about 10:00 pm. All our bags made it which we are grateful. We had a great trip, in Detroit we actually got out of one plane and walked across the hallway to board the flight to Amsterdam (clock work was perfect). We will be in Dar until next Monday at the earliest waiting on our vehicle to be worked on.

We have seen pictures of our house and will send that in the next day or so. It is in a nice area, with lots of yard space for our dogs. We will have to build a fence when we get there.

Thank you all for your continued prayers and we will keep you updated on the news from here.
